California Air Resources Board (CARB)
CARB is charged with protecting the public from the harmful effects of air pollution and developing programs and actions to fight climate change. From requirements for clean cars and fuels to adopting innovative solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, California has pioneered a range of effective approaches that have set the standard for effective air and climate programs for the nation, and the world.
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
The IPCC is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change. It was created to provide policy makers with regular scientific assessments on climate change, its implications and potential future risks, as well as to put forward adaptation and mitigation options.
Regional Climate Protection Authority(RCPA)
RCPA, was formed to coordinate countywide climate protection efforts among Sonoma County's nine cities and multiple agencies. The RCPA fosters collaboration, helps to set goals, pools resources, formalizes partnerships, and works across silos. The RCPA aims to create local solutions to complement State, Federal, and private sector actions – all showing that a better future with lower emissions is possible.
Drawdown has ranked 80-100 solutions toward reversing global warming. Teachers can use Drawdown in their classrooms. Communities can integrate solutions into local plans that also solve other (non-climate) problems and address climate at the same time.
