As Greenbelt Alliance’s Advocacy Director, Teri Shore leads advocacy efforts to protect open space and encourage climate-smart growth throughout the Bay Area. Teri championed winning campaigns to triple the size of greenbelt buffers and to renew urban growth boundaries.
Greenbelt Alliance’s mission is to educate, advocate, and collaborate to ensure the Bay Area’s lands and communities are resilient to a changing climate. To forge more climate resilient communities, we must protect our greenbelts, grow more carefully and decide how to live in fire-prone lands. In Sonoma County, we have a strong legacy of conserving open space and farmlands and climate-smart city centered growth. Now we need to get serious about preventing further loss of life and homes to wildfires with new land use policies and climate action, particularly in the wildland urban interface. |
