Sonoma County Climate Activist Network (SoCoCAN!) is a consortium of organizations and individuals in Sonoma County, California committed to addressing the climate crisis. Our network shares information, coordinates efforts, and serves to support all organizations in the network, to create a unified body that maximizes our impact. We operate on a consensus model. Individuals and organizations are independent and operate under a number of organizational aims and objectives with the common concern of addressing the climate crisis. Learn more about our network.

Who we are
Life on Earth is under severe threat from catastrophic climate change, which is being caused by humans through over-consumption and our constant production of greenhouse gases by burning fossil fuels and forest-based fuels. We are striving to create a central hub where the spokes join together in cooperation, to effectively move forward towards our mutual success. Our goal is the protection of the global climate in a manner which promotes equity and social justice between peoples, sustainable development of all communities, and protection of the global environment. We are united in our work to support and empower civil society organizations to develop effective strategies for rapid decarbonization and ensure that implementation in Sonoma County includes the promotion of equity, and sustainability.
